Getting to Badian using an Airport Pickup

Getting to Badian is easy with an airport pickup from Cebu Mactan Airport. The cost of a one way journey in a licensed taxi is PHP 4,500 pesos. This trip takes about 2 and a half hours depending on traffic, and the driver will bring you right to our place. Please let us know in advance if you would like us to arrange this

Getting to Badian in a Cebu Taxi

Getting to Badian by Cebu taxi is also way but you will need to negotiate the fare. You could also ask at your hotel or the airport for a local Cebu taxi car. We have taken a taxi before from Cebu City to Badian which cost us 3,000 pesos, but you might need to negotiate for that. If you keep in touch with us on your journey we can meet you on the road near our place.

Getting to Badian by Bus

The two main bus companies that come to Badian are:

Getting to Badian by Librando Bus from Cebu City1) Librando (red buses) – Take a taxi from your hotel or the airport to the Librando bus Terminal which might cost around 150 – 300 Pesos depending where you are staying. All Librando Buses head South to Badian where they terminate, and cost between 100 -150 Pesos per person. The bus journey takes about 3 hours to reach Badian town.

The buses are at least hourly, sometimes they run every half hour, and start early in the morning from around 6:am till 6:pm (You pay the conductor in cash). There is one air conditioned bus that makes a few trips per day but most are not on this route. With windows open it is quite pleasant when the bus gets moving. The bus will stop to pick up and drop off wherever you want on route.

Getting to Badian by Ceres Bus from Cebu City2) Ceres (Yellow buses) – Take a taxi from your hotel or airport to the Ceres South Bus Terminal which might cost around 150 – 300 Pesos (you pay the conductor in cash). Not all Ceres buses go to Badian so ask staff for the Badian bus which will usually be heading to Bato, and tell the conductor to let you off in Badian town. It costs between 100 -150 Pesos per person. The bus journey takes about 3 hours and will drop off and pickup anywhere on route.

Ceres buses run 24 hours a day, every hour or sometimes every half hour so it is actually a very good bus service. Be sure to get on one that is heading via Badian on the West Coast as some of them go down the East Coast.

Getting to Badian From Dumaguete

Getting to Badian from Dumaguete and the South requires crossing the Tanton Straight from the island of Negros to Cebu. Although there is a Ceres bus terminal in Dumaguete offering trips to Cebu City (including the ferry crossing) The bus does not pass through Badian.

The bus you need to aim for leaves from Bato which is on the Island of Cebu. There are a number of options to get to Bato from two ports on Negros:

From Sibulan to Liloan, Santander

You need to get to the port of Sibulan which is North of Dumaguete city and there are a number of ways to get threre:

By Multicab: These line up outside of Macdonalds on Bishop Epifanio Surban Street, ask for the Sibulan port and the fast craft crossing from Sibulan to Liloan expect to pay around 20 pesos per person

By Tricycle: Flag one down anywhere and ask for the fast craft crossing from Sibulan to Liloan expect to pay around 80 pesos per person.

From Sibulan there are a number of boat or ferry options leaving for Liluan:

The fast craft (Cuadro Alas Navigation Lines): This is good for foot passengers and takes around 20 minutes.

From Liloan port take a tricycle to Bato, they are all lined up at the port, make sure to ride one heading North to Bato bus terminal, (some head south) and expect to pay around 50 pesos per person.

From Tampi, Amlan to Samboan Bato

This way is good for both foot passengers and those with vehicles, the Amlan port is a little bit further North from Dumagute, but there is a Maayo fery running directly to Bato which is a good option to skip the tricycle from Liluan to Bato, its a less traveled route and less busy if you want to escape the hustle and bustle.

You need to get to the port of Alman which is North of Dumaguete city and there are a number of ways to get threre:

By Bus: Take a Ceres Bus from the main bus terminal in Dumaguete to the Alman port and ask for Maayo Shipping crossing from Alman to Samboan (Bato) expect to pay around 80 pesos per person, but you will also need to take a tricycle from down town Dumaguete to the bus terminal which may cost 20 pesos per person.

From Alman take the Maayo ferry to Samboan (Bato) they run frequently, Click here for schedule and fares

Once at the port in Samboan either ride a tricycle to the Bato bus terminal for around 20 pesos per person or its only a ten minute walk south to the terminal.

Getting to Badan from Bato

Finally ask at the bus terminal in Bato for the bus going via Badian, this takes about an hour and 30 minutes and expect to pay around 80 pesos per person.
